Valentines day is almost here!
Well Valentines day is just around the corner.As we all know this is a day to express your love to that special person.It could be a spouse,a child,a significant other or anyone else you care for.I personally think it is a good holiday for several reasons.*It is good for the economy!!! Mega bucks are spent every year for this event,everything from cards to cars are given to that special someone.My first memory of spending mega bucks on that special someone occured in the 7th grade.I saved my money I earned from doing odd jobs and bought a very special card for 1.00 and gave it to that special person Patricia someone.After 50 years the last name excapes me.Needless to say I was terrably disappointed when she gave me a 3 cent card.*Another case for Valantines day is to searve as a reminder to say “I love you”.Hopefully we don’t need a reminder,but for myself,a little nudge sure helps.
Along the lines of love,I had the honor of attending a memorial service this evening .for a gentleman who passed away last weekend after battleing cancer for several months.The room at Vanderbilts stadium club,where the celebration of life was held,Was filled to capacity.As I listened to the friends and relatives stand up and share stories about Steve and his life I could feel the love in the room for this remarkable man who has left us to be with the lord at the young age of 55.
As I was driving home after the celebration I thought about all the people I love.I also thought about Valentines day and the fact that It may be the only time we tell someone “I love you”Life is precious and life is short.I am going to make an effort to start telling my loved ones “I love you”more often because we dont know how long they will be with us or how long we will be with them.
Up date on hals health:My scans still show stability in the bones,however the last scans showed a shadow on my lungs.It may not be anything or it could be something more serious.It is located in an area that the docs can’t get to for a biospy.Needless to say I have been very concerned.I am planning on going to Tulsa Ok later this month to Cancer Treatment Centers Of America for 5 days for more testing.Please keep me in your prayers.
