My Journey to Healing

Life in in Tulsa

Greetings to all our friends~~Cancer is a very unusual disease. Many times we have no idea how we contract it.Some say smoking causes it,however people who have never smoked get it.Some say breathing hazardous chemicals cause it but people who have never been exposed contract it.Some say diet causes it,some say stress causes it.I could go on and on,but the truth is we really can’t say for sure. The one thing we do know is that approx.40% of all people in the U.S.have it or will get it.Some have it and don’t know it.

One thing I have learned about this dread disease is that you have to be very proactive when fighting it.So many times the doctors, most of whom are very caring and knowledgable sometimes are very busy and prehaps don’t have the time to prescribe care other than treating the disease itself with meds.In my journey of healing I have learned that there are other treatments available other than medical prescriptions.I would like to share with you just a few of them.1.Vitamens.Many vitamens can slow the growth of the cancer as well as help prevent it.You may want to seek the advice of an expert in that feild.2.Stress.Stress can have many negative influences on cancer.Practice relaxation techniques such as reading a good positive book, take a walk in the park or just up and down your street.Watch funny movies. One we watched this week was “Last Holiday”and can be found in the comedy section of your video store.Get a pet.I can be having a rough day but when I get home and my dog, named Brown Dog II,greets me I forget all my troubles,at least for a little while.I am sure that you can probably come up with some others.3.Diet.Maintain a well balanced diet and avoid junk foods. On our website”christianswithcancer.org”we mention several cancer friendly books.4.Join a support group. One I reccomend is Gildas Club.these clubs can be found by going on line and Google Gildas Club.~~~These are just a few things that you hopefully will find helpful. One other thing that works for me,but mayby not for you is to get a motorcycle and take long rides in the country.Dickie and I rode our Harley last Sun.It was in the mid 70s and a great day to ride.

Hopefully these tips will be helpful.

Hals health up date:Everything is still stable. While at Cancer Treatment Centers of America last week we met with the pain management doctor and revised some of my pain medswhich has helped lesson the pain in my back.

We launched our new website 2 weeks ago~~~christianswithcancer.org~~~and invite you to visit us there. If you would like the little book we send out ~~Healed of Cancer ~~just send us an email, hal@halwilson.net

I wish each of you a blessed week.
