Here I Sit
Well here I sit in a waiting room in the town of Vanderbilt Hospital or at least it feels like a small town. Anyway at least it gives me an opportunity to get a lot of work done. Some of the things I try to do at the waiting room are: 1) write my blogs 2) work on my new book “Learning Real Estate Through Laughter and Fear” 3) Praying 4) reading a good book like “The Shack”, “90 Minutes in Heaven”, “The Bear”, “The Biography of Lou Holtz” are a few I have finished in waiting rooms 5) set goals. Now is an excellent time to set goals for 2009. 6) write letters 7) meditate
talk to other patients 9) read 4 year old magazines 10) people watch. When I plan my waiting activities in advance, the time goes by much quicker. Some of the planning is based on the hospital you are going to visit. In these days of POLLS, I have taken my own pertaining to waiting times. Vandy has the longest wait with St Thomas having the shortest wait, in fact at St Thomas they have a sign saying “If you haven’t been called in 15 minutes notify the receptionist”. Another aspect of time is that it becomes much more important when you have a disease such as cancer. I try to use my time as effectively as possible as I don’t know how much time is left in my life although no one does. During the past week or so it seems I have had alot of activities to take my time. On Monday, I spent the afternoon at my dentists office due to a toothache. On Tuesday, I spent time at St Thomas having lab tests, meeting with my doctor and getting an infuson of Zometa, a bone hardner. On Wednesday, I started my day at my regular Bible Study at 7:00 am followed by a committee meeting at the Greater Nashville Association of Realtors before my 10:30 am Vanderbilt appointment to have my stitches removed. Well enough of my time filling activities. Before closing, just an update on my health. Overall I feel good except for my back and arm pain. Hopefully the arm will continue to feel better as I exercise it and it continues to heal. Once again, thanks for all of your prayers you have offered up for me and I wish each of you a great rest of the week.
